Pry it up very gently and it should come right out. It's rather like a small battery compartment cover. Anyway, it goes back together easily. Just be gentle with it since the plastic isn't very thick. **Q: Is this an electric or battery operated??** A: This is battery operated. However, I didn't have much luck using it. It didn't seem to grab my "mustache" hairs at all. I ended up giving it away to AmVets. I have yet to find a good facial epilator. **Q: Every time i use it, and i prefer it takes off the peach fuzz, it has black oil stuff that gets on your skin, i have tried to clean coil, doesn't help** A: I had the same problem after about six months of light use. Shortly after, the coil completely failed. Returned it to the store I bought it from. **Q: How do i return this thing? Its junk, i cant seen to find a place to return???** A: You can't. They say in the brochure to call a certain number to get a return ticket, but they never answered me. Read reviews of other products but this seemed to be the best product and I wasn't disappointed. Make sure you read the instructions though and don't overdo, you can always go back tomorrow and pick up strags.
