I split the rubber over the toe section trying to get it over the toe of my boot. Probably my fault for trying to force it over the shoe instead of buying a larger size. I live in SD and have used similar since moving up here 5 winters ago. Only problem was having to take them off my shoes when going into a store with tile or smooth concrete floors because they can be as slippery as ice. I now have my cleats on a pair of sneakers and carry a pair of slip-on shoes to change into when going into stores and then back to the shoes with cleats when leaving. I won't go out when there is snow or ice without them and usually take them with me just in case if not wearing them when I leave the house.
