I forced saturated cotton wool pads under floor around radiator pipes and scattered in the loft after finding and destroying an obvious nest and all has remained quiet ever since. Yes, there is a strong and heady scent of peppermint throughout the whole house but it is quite pleasant and calming, I intend to re-dose sometime soon, it's a great way to get rid these horrible little bleeders while making the house smell very calming and relaxing. For fear that rodents were about to set up camp in my abode, I mixed the peppermint oil with water and sprayed it into key corners around the house. As well as leaving the place smelling fantastic, the oil seemed to put a near-immediate stop to the uninvited guests' plans. Never to be seen or heard from again.
