It seemed a very strong unit that would protect my iPad and apparently under water as well. This water proof claim is of little interest to me so have never tried it and have need to I would not use it near any water. So then this new larger case seems exactly like the old one in that it fits very well though again I have no idea if it it was water proof, it certainly isn't now. I duly fitted my new and larger iPad and all seemed well but a few moments later my wife tried to take a photo only to find the lens aperture partly blocked the iPad lens. I had ordered the unit the day before and paid extra so she had it for the weekend as she was using the iPad and I didn't want her to damage it. This meant I had no choice but to keep it and 'adjust' the case so there was no camera problem. Why is this unit made so badly when it seems to be extremely well made? Two cases failed waterproof tests , the original and its replacement , which I kept as I needed some protection for my I pad on a. Sailing holliday, however I don't trust the waterproofing so keep my I pad in its waterproof case well away from water .A few months on since purchasing , the case protects my I pad against falls, however the dust gets in and a frequently have to open the case to clean dusty o rings . Also the new push in design for the headphones cover is much less robust than the screw in version on previous cases .
