My feet did get bitten a fair bit so probably wise to wear on ankles too, but the straps aren't long enough for this, and I have skinny ankles too. I can honestly say they are brilliant. We have used them all around Caribbean and south America. We had people asking about them recently in mexico where a huge amount of people were getting bitten. **Q: Do you have to wear on ankles too? But difficult with hiking boots on** A: No. The bands are designed to protect areas of exposed skin. They are ideal for wrists and ankles, but if you have hiking boots on you will probably be fine without them, especially if you can tuck socks into the bottom of trousers to keep all exposed skin covered. If you are not wearing long trousers, make sure to apply repellent down to your ankles before you put the boots on. **Q: Are the bands made of silicone or latex?** A: Impregnated fabric bands **Q: Can they be worn when swimming and are they still effective afterwards** A: Yes. Would still highly recommend ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not the best *by P***9 on 10 September 2024* Didnt work, we both got bit several times, did as the instructions told us, wore them and placed into box after around 7 hours. At one point we took to wearing one on our wrist and ankle and still got bitten. These were the only ones i could see on here with Deet so i felt sure they were going to do the job.
