It certainly makes sense for instance in medium to severe asthma self-monitoring. I use this oxymeter together with the same brand peak flow meter and soon wrist band. The dedicated app is the key differentiating factor that will in the long run filter out the gadgets from the serious players in this nascent industry. The core tracking functions of Activ8rlives data input recording app are doing the job seriously. There are some fluffs and niceties you can ignore, but the end results of dedicated tracking is that you get a medically valuable set of graphs to show next time you have to go to the ER.But prior to this, it helps the patient, or patient's helper make sense and put some order with so many signals exposing, in my case, asthma current, and maybe predicative state. For an efficient self-managed tracking regimen, that is, to avoid ending up with yet another piece of useless hardware in the back of the drawer, I recommend you use a time reminder app and stick to your own regimen. It can at times feel a little bit obsessive but it is worth the dedication. I currently track three times a day.The oxymeter works as advertised with excellent ease of use. Compared with a medical grade calibrated bulky type oxymeter used while hospitalized, this small one leans on the optimist side with a constantly + 2 points oxygen value as compared with data from the hospital hardware.Heart beat data has shown to be mostly equivalent to what the nurse records. The oxygen discrepancy doesn't much matter as long as it is hopefully constant.The metrics tracking app's learning curve is steep, but you should dedicate time to understand the innards. It is worth the efforts.
