The colours are intrinsically the same, but the order varies all the time, for example the photo shows the inside of the ball being light cream moving to light pink, getting darker with the darkest on the edge. Mine arrived with only light pink in the middle, moving to darker, and hten the cream and some more light pink on the edge. So essentially the same yarn, but the order it comes in varies as to where on the roll it was cut for your ball. My yarn label says 5 oz/142 g 81 yards size 6 bulky and it cost around 3.50 **Q: how long is each color section before it switches to the next color?** A: That's hard to answer because each color may be slightly longer or shorter then thr next. I can say its not like variegated where the colors change every so many inches, these are long color lengths before they change to a new color. There are approximately 7 colors sets in each cake, so divide that by the total length of 590 yards and it will give you a very rough idea of each color.
