Every item of pottery is still expertly glazed by craftsman. Underglaze is a method of decorating pottery in which the decoration is applied to the surface before it is glazed. Because the glaze will subsequently cover it, such decoration is completely durable, and it also allows the production of pottery with a surface that has a uniform sheen. Underglaze decoration uses pigments derived from oxides which fuse with the glaze when the piece is fired in a kiln. First, it is lead-free and acid-proof. It also can stand wear and tear and will never fade. Second, colorful yet not vulgar, this is the unique color effect of under-glaze porcelain. Third, it is seemingly smooth and crystal-clear, bright and clear.

Really nice and design good
Really nice and design good. Just a shame the saucer didn't have an indent for the cup to sit in as it moves around, and my elderly mum struggles with that. But really nice quality.

Classic and very pretty
Not the best or finest porcelain but then you certainly wouldn't be getting it at this price if it were. It is well worth the money if you want to give it as a gift or just enjoy something different. I bought this as a birthday gift for one friend who collects tea cups and coffee mugs and she says that this is one of the very best ones in her collection. It‘s wrapped elaborately ready to be gifted and I need not do anything. I am tempted to buy the other color choices!

Great quality, deep colours, elegant proportions, relatively light in weigh and dishwasher proof. A very attractive cup and saucer delivered in very nice packaging too so perfect for a gift as well.
