You will need to have point on the bottom. **Q: is this suitable for 60mm diameter round wooden fencing posts** A: It will certainly do the job on 60mm posts, no problem. I used it on 100mm half rounded posts with excellent results. It is quite heavy so found it easier to use with two people as we had a lot of posts to install. **Q: What size fence posts can this be used for?** A: The diameter of this is 17cm (6.5") so I would recommend this is used for a maximum of 6". **Q: What material is this made from?** A: welded steel. it's very heavy. great bit of kit. I’m older now so I thought I’d spoil myself when I was confronted with doing the same thing. So I bought a post driver. Best thing I ever did. No damage to the posts and the post went in straight! The driver took a little getting used to. Solid, sturdy the handles angled for ease. The weight being lifted above your head but then the force of gravity helping the downward blow onto the post.
