It is quite small, so it fits into small places. It’s perfect for my grill and fire pit. I’m always a bit leery tipping it onto its side. You might contact the manufacturer. **Q: Does anyone make a stabilizing base for this size tank (to prevent tipping during transport)?** A: I have never tried to find one. I always just pack it in between my gear and it stays in place nicely. **Q: What's the width of the top?** A: The handle on the top around the valve is the same as a standard 20# propane cylinder (6 3/4" diameter) . The tank itself is about 8 to 8 1/2 inches in diameter (harder to measure that). **Q: Is this ready for filling up propane?
