Having not tried anything other than general patio cleaner, I can't say if there are any other/better treatments out there, but I can say it worked for me. The stain has been on the patio for about a year. I can't comment on how good it may be on its main purpose as a wood cleaner, though. These are the steps that worked for me: 1. Lightly water the paving slabs and brush clear any excess water. 2. Pour Owatrol neat onto the whole of the rust stain. 3. Leave it for at least 10 minutes (don't know if even longer works even better). 4. Scrub the affected area (I used a stiff brush) to work on the stain (I didn't need to scrub a great deal). 5. Rinse off with plenty of water and brush off any remaining product 6. Repeat step 1 to 5 if not completely gone. I've maintained a boat's teak cockpit for 20+ years. Never got decent results with this.
