I have an iPhone with a case and a credit card pouch on the back and it still works just fine. I use it in my bathroom and I like the auto shut off feature so I can just pick my phone up and go. No pairing, just hit the power button and it works. The sound quality is not digital by any means but the its good for what it is. I use my pebble watch to control the phone while i'm in the shower. Battery life is good. I've used it everyday for about 30 mins for a month now on one set of batteries.
