The description of it is very firm, and that it is. I purchased the 5 inch thickness so there is not a lot of space for 'give'. The quality of the material feels very good. I felt great waking up from a nights rest; where with the traditional spring mattress I would usually feel sore. As it's very firm, the support doesn't allow for the body to sink and my body felt balanced and weight distributed comfortably. If you're someone more comfortable in a soft, sinking, cloud-like bed, this is the antithesis of that. It felt like a comfortably warm, grounding sleep.
