Added the hot tea slowly to make a 8 ounce glass jar of fluffy paste; well emulsified, mixed well. Turned my dry head of hair upside down in huge sink and slowly massaged in tablespoons all thru scalp to ends. I packed it on, didn't use plastic gloves, slight hand staining but washed off easy with soap. Rolled up my hair in a bun and covered with plastic wrap for hour plus. Wanted to go overnight but was too tired. Rinsed well but not enough to get all oil out. I purposely left some in and went to bed with towels on my pillows. Washout second time with minimal shampoo again, no sulfates ever. The grey was golden and hair was ultra soft. Look forward to doing it again and leave in longer. Smelt nice like the rich hair oil I used. It stains the most, indigo is a blackish blue herb that is also powdered but doesn’t stain as strongly as henna, cassia is a yellow herb that is also powdered for coloring hair but doesn’t grip/stain as much as the henna or indigo. Basically, as you keep coloring your roots/new growth, you’re maintaining your color and adding more color to what might be fading. If you decide herbal hair color is not for you, Color Oops extra strength will remove it. You may have to do 2 rounds of Color Oops (no bleach in it- doesn’t damage hair) to get the henna out so you can go back to chemical dye. I have a lot of experience with henna and all herbal dyes. I’ve removed henna with Color Oops and gone back to chemical color several times. Used the blonde color twice each time barely saw a difference in my hair. My return window has passed or i would have returned this item. I have to admit that the first time, i didn't know what i was doing. I mixed half of the powder mixture in water, waited a few hours and then applied it on my clean hair without oils. Nothing! The second time i researched and added apple cider vinegar as directed and waited. This time i kept the mixture in my hair longer, 8 hours and nothing.
