I’m happy with the purchase, but it’s not very intuitive to set up. I plugged it into my iPad and followed the prompts, I’m getting the hang of it now but it’s a lot of trial and error and pushing buttons to test it out. I have transferred a few files to it to test it out and make sure I know how to retrieve them before deleting them off my iPad, so I can’t say I’ve seen a reduction in my storage capacity on my iPad yet. There are two options to view, internal storage and external storage. They both accurately reflect the amount of storage I have used on both, yet when I’ve transferred the files, they show up on the device under internal iPad storage, even though they are on the external storage device. The external storage device view shows empty. I’m not sure why this is and I need to continue testing it out to be sure, but that doesn’t seem to have any effect on my ability to view or retrieve the files from the external storage. But again, without deleting them off my iPad I can’t say for sure that it’s truly freed up space on my ipad and used available space on the external storage device.
