This car seat i got for my miniature Dachshund who is 12 lbs and she easily escapes it. She is able to just jump over it easily. If I had a smaller dog or perhaps one who just lays these would be perfect. I love the mesh so your dog can keep an eye on the road. I also love that it does not contain a lot of velcro. My previous seat had velcro and they disassemble the seat everytime. This is a well made car seat and would be perfect for a micro dog. My dogs can also jump up on the side and collapse it. I am going to have to get a seat that is slightly sturdier for my wild ones. I would say though if you do not have a car seat get one.
