Featuring a built-in thermostat and Humidistat, the self-adjusting, 10-speed ECM motor is always reading the temperature and humidity in the attic. Review: We live in northern UT where summers can routinely get into the 90's during the day and cool off into the high 50s overnight. This fan has allowed us to open up the house at sundown and then close the windows around 8 or 9am the following morning. It is mid-July and we have not run the AC once this year even with outside temps as high as 95. The inside temp of the house has only gotten up to 79 degrees once. Most days it tops out at 76-78 degrees in the late afternoon. This fan really does a great job in keeping the attic significantly cooler. The fan is a little louder than I would expect but I love the fact that it is variable speed and only kicks up to high speed (i.e. more noise) during the late afternoon, as soon as its starts cooling off in the evening, the fan slows down and becomes much quieter. You do need to ensure you have enough airflow, and in our case we ended up increasing the size of our gable vent to allow for better airflow from the fan to outdoors. We also ensure we had a pretty tight enclosure for the fan to mount to so that the fan could work at peak efficiency. That said, installation was basic and straight forward. I anticipate that this fan will pay for itself from energy savings in less than 2 years by not needing to run the AC nearly as often. Not very neighbour friendly ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by M***N on 21 March 2020* This attic fan works very well, Is easy to install with a nice cord already attached, it’s a bit noisy but moves a lot of air. It will also send vibrations through your house a bit, so it’s a good idea to use rubber isolation around the mounting tabs. You can definitely hear it running at night when you’re sleeping so, consider mounting it at the opposite end of your house where you don’t sleep. The quieter more expensive (Green ) unit is supposedly better in a few ways.
