We personally store one in each pocket of our thicker coats, reason being, when you head for those thicker coats you know its going to be cold (Possibly a bad idea if it rips or leaks - although we have yet to experience this). On those freezing walks its a pleasure to suddenly remember you have one of these in each pocket! They heat up well, however in my experience not blisteringly hot. The colder it is outside the faster the heat obviously dissipates. I would give it a solid 30 minutes and thereafter the warmth is somewhat lack luster. As per the video, simply snap the small disc and within seconds the pack will solidify and heat up. To re-use/reset the hand warmer I personally bring a pot of water to boil, place a hand towel or similar on the bottom so the metal is not directly touching the plastic and as such melt it. Pop the hand warmers inside and wait for it to form its gel-like state again.
