This left a gap between the tile and the bottom of my new range hood. I attached this stainless steel trim strip to the new hood to close the gap at the top of the backsplash. It worked out great. Make sure you have drill bits meant for drilling metal if you do this and have some patience. It will take some time to drill through this quality stainless steel trim.
