I recommend using it on freshly washed/co-washed, thoroughly rinsed hair (as opposed to simply wetting dry hair). A little goes a long way as you will see. Use minimal pumps, not only because it's expensive (the ONLY reason it doesn't get 5 stars), but also because the hold can be very stiff if you're not careful. This stuff really holds. Start with a minimal amount in your hand (2 pumps for me) and work it into your damp hair. Wet your hands with water to create more foam if necessary. It may take using it 2-3 times before you figure out the perfect amount for your hair. Again, for me, it takes 2 pumps and wet hands for the look I like. When it dries, you hair will look and feel quite luxurious (for lack of a better word)--very smooth and shiny with insane curl definition and minimal frizz. You will be touching your hair all day. NOTE: My hair is very short--2 inches max at the longest point. Hence, I am actively seeking a less costly alternative.Detangles well and helps with curl chunking. My hair is just past my chin length when curly, nearly bra strap length when straight.The girl who recommended this to me also has fine hair (and a length I wish I had).For those who don't have a curl pattern: it works well for twist-outs too.Update:I’m pretty sure that my last shipment was Set 2 in a Set 3 bottle. I have used Set 2 before and it comes out more white/frothy than the Set 3 which has a more liquid-foam appearance. It also has a much lighter/softer hold. Either my last shipment was Set 2 in a Set 3 bottle or the formulation has changed.
