There are 2 metal arms that attach to the TV's VESA holes on the back and the actual bracket, which has some weight to it. With the extenstion arm which can pull out the TV, it sits about 2 inches away from the wall. I've put an old LCD TV onto it which weights 22KG. The bracket can hold up to 50KG if it's not pulled away from the wall on the extension arm. Overall it's a very good bracket and it comes with the bolts that go into the wall.On the downside the wall plugs are pretty useless so get your own quality ones. It also only came with 6 bolts when there are holes for 8 bolts, which I don't understand. As long as the bracket is straight when you mark off the holes (the little spirit bubble)provided in the kit is perfect too. It is so strong and well built, swivel and tilt is exactly what I wanted.
