I applied it after washing and conditioning my hair. I ended up washing my hair twice the same day because my family turned on the fire pit and my hair smelled like smoke. The first time I washed, I applied the cream directly on the hair after washing and detangling. I didn’t like how my hair turned out. I tried it again but this time I applied a leave in from a different brand and I still didn’t like it. I liked defined curls. My hair is sensitive to protein, I think that’s why it didn’t work in my hair. I have type 3b/c curls. My curls didn’t feel moisturized, it felt like the moisture was getting stripped from my hair while applying it. Hair felt like straw.
