Understand the risk of your network when deciding on remote control of your HVAC. Is it worth it? *******The main reason for a DO NOT BUY rating: The unit will disconnect on you and go “offline”. The main problem with this is the internet is always good, the unit is 10 feet away from the router, and no other network devices have problems. I have cameras 60 feet away from the router with no problems at all. The unit will not reconnect on its own. So you will have to crawl into the attic, crawlspace, or location and manually unplug the connection to get it to reconnect. That’s all you have to do to get it to work again because the unit will not reconnect itself or respond to the app via the phone. This is a problem on airdoo’s engineering side of this product that needs to be fixed. Freezing of the unit and going offline all the time is not exceptable. I will say the customer service help in this has been responsive. But the blame game starts and they will blame your internet provider, then they will blame your network, then they will tell you the installer needs to fix it. They will tell you to change settings, open up ports, which do not do!, because that opens your network up to getting your network hacked and data will be downloaded via their cloud servers.
