So the lever on the handle seems to quick heat to the desired temperature and flips up to, "auto switch" to warming temp. This seems to stay on for quite a long time, and you will hear it warming water back up as it cools down until you turn the knob all the way to the left to turn the kettle off. I haven't dry boiled to see if it auto shuts off the kettle completely. Maybe that's when the function kicks on. Otherwise, it seems to be an auto switch to warm mode.
