A small amount of Shikakai powder can be added to deepen the color. Henna can also be added to cassia but if doing this, need to be very cautious as only a minute amount is needed to add to cassia as henna is very dominant so an approximation would be 99.9% cassia and 0.1% henna, otherwise you could end up with strawberry blonde. You can mix cassia with chamomile tea and lemon juice (can leave out lemon juice as it can have a drying effect on hair but does help with dye release) and leave to stand for a few hours to get dye release although not necessary. Also if you can get rhubarb root you can add this to cassia to get a darker blonde.
