You can't flush clay litter down into a septic tank, and clay litter makes sand all over the house and grits up the floors. Not this stuff. Dunno exactly what it's made with, wheat chaff or something, but it's a plant product that has excellent clumping ability and as a bonus, no perfumes to annoy the sensitive noses. And because it's a plant product, the septic tank is fine with it. Scoop and dump into the toilet, the balls break up instantly and I've never had a clog.
