The LEGACY WATERSPORTS Kayak Canoe Car Roof Rack features heavy-duty folding J Bars made from marine-grade anodized aluminum, designed to securely hold kayaks and canoes on your vehicle's roof. With a height of 50 cm and width of 40 cm, this versatile rack fits all roof bars and includes tie-down straps and fixtures for easy installation. The innovative folding mechanism allows the J-Bars to lay flat when not in use, minimizing wind resistance and noise, while maximizing your roof space for additional gear.

## Description

The Legacy Heavy Duty Folding J-Bars are designed to be mounted onto your vehicle's existing roof rack bars to act as a cradle for anything you want to carry and keep held firmly in place. Ideal for kayaks and canoes, but has many other uses such as SUP's, surfboards, skis, ladders etc. The J-bars are designed to support one kayak or canoe, but will hold multiple SUP’s and surfboards. They fold down to a very low profile when not in use, reducing drag to help with noise and fuel economy. It also means you don't need to remove the bars after every trip. Simply fold away by pushing the red button on the joint or place them in any other position to suit your load in same way. Each bar is fitted with 6 rubber pads to protect the load and stop it coming into contact with aluminium frame. The cleverly engineered clamping system means that they will fit various profiles of roof bar including square, aero and some wing bars. The J Bars also come with two 3m heavy duty tie down straps for securing the load to the bars.

These bracket are the best solution I have use for putting kayaks on the roof of my vehicle. Some reports say they are flimsy but I don’t agree with this. If you run straps correctly and also tie the top of the kayaks to your roof bars they are rock solid and don’t move at all. My 4x4 is very tall and the lay flat option allows me to get the Kayaks loaded with relative ease. However, that being said kayaks are heavy so a bit of muscle power and technique is required. I managed to get 2 Kayaks on and off the roof of my 4 x 4 on my own but I had to think it through as my kayaks are really heavy. Very glad I bought these brackets as nothing else I have tried is as solid and easy.

I purchased two pairs of these kayak racks as they appeared to be a high quality product and had a proce to match.  Sadly, the quality and sturdiness do not match up to the price tag.  Only us for lighter weight kayaks.

The fold down option is great and the straps it comes with are fantastic but the actual bars are a bit flimsy but working fine.
