This necklace is approximately 1" in length. On the front, the metal doesn't really show. It's all about the stones. The quality of workmanship is good. T The silver is well plated. The chain is fine like mesh, but strong and it's very suitable for the size of pendant. The bale on the pendant is large enough for a thicker chain, omega, or ribbon, if that's desired. I'm not sure why everyone complains about the chain. It's a thin, mesh looking silver chain. Yes it's delicate, but that's what you're buying. Says so in description and all these colorful reviews. Just get a new one if you must.Now i'm no gemologist, but it appears shiny, neatly mounted, and well made. Has a .925 stamp on the silver. I've had it about two or three months, only taking it off to shower (most of the time), and it hasn't tarnished at all. I'm pleasantly surprised. One thing I don't like is how thin the actual cross pendant is. Not how small, but how thin... my confirmation cross that this is replacing was similar to this but a little wider. Very pretty though, would make a nice gift. Not as sparky as real diamonds.. obviously ..
