This brush is made of soft and flexible plastic that conforms to the shape of my hand. I have rather small hands, and I find it fits best if I slip my pinkie out of the handle and control the pressure with my thumb on the opposite side of the brush. Larger hands may find it more comfortable having their pinkie and their index finger outside the handle. It feels SO GOOD on my scalp. I don't know how much truth there is behind 'scalp massages really make your hair grow faster and thicker', I haven't looked into the science, and am still a little skeptical, but oh my gosh does it feel good. It feels so good. I had no idea how many LAYERS my hair had. I also had no idea how THIRSTY my hair was; I went through half a 1.5 liter spray bottle and still had a lot of dry patches while I was detangling for the first time.
