I highly recommend watching a video about how to properly and safely trim your cuticles before using these. They work well dry, but it's best to use a good cuticle cream and wood orange stick first to gently push your cuticles down so you can trim the excess off easily and preserve the cutting edge of the nippers. Never use the nippers to cut anything else like a little string or fabric or something, that will damage them. The feel very durable and high quality.
