I did a little research and found out that the 377A battery (A stands for Alkaline) that the watch comes with has a much shorter life span. I like the watch with date and time function and It was pretty easy to change out the battery. Online information states that the 377 can expect a 2 to 3 years life span in a watch. It s say's that the 377A is good for between 6 and 12 months. I got 8 months out of it.
