We have one very large lazy cat and his brother who is half the size and loves to torment his brother even though he is 9 years old now. His brother will play with the toy on his back, giving them a good wash but loses interest after a while. The little one goes absolutely nuts flinging it up in the air, hiding it to pounce, batting it about everywhere on etc. I'm still waiting for the mellow stage as he's been playing with it non stop for 3 hours! I think your cats temperament plays a part in how much they get out of it.
