## Questions & Answers

**Q: The description suggests that this has your cable adapter integrated into it and POE will work with a standard cat5 cable (no need to cross pairs)?**
A: This device is only a PoE injector. It has 2 standard RJ45 connectors, and you do not need to cross pairs because it was designed for the required power injection pinout. You can use 2 connection options.
1. Cut off the standard Starlink connector and replace it with an RJ45 shielded connector (T-568B scheme crimping). Connect it to the PoE side of the injector, and apply 48V power.
2. Use an Adapter that will switch the interface from the Starlink connector to the RJ45. Connect the output of the Adapter to the PoE side of the injector with the cable from the kit, and apply 48V power. (If 30 cm of kit cable is not enough for you, you can use a more extended standard shielded cable, cat6 or better.)
- after that, you will have a standard RJ45 interface on the LAN side of the Injector. The cable to the computer or router from this connector is straight, without crossing.

**Q: For the ethernet cable that goes between the router and this POE device, does it need to be T-568B?**
A: In the literature that comes with the YAOSHENG Rectangular Dishy Cable Adapter to RJ45, it shows that a T-568B is used to connect from LAN to router

**Q: If i don't also use the "rectangular dishy cable adapter" and cut the end of cord coming from dishy, do i just do a t568-b pinout on the end?**
A: I purchased one of these recently and it works perfectly. You are correct, you just cut the standard starlink cable and terminate it with the t568-b pinout (preferably with a shielded RJ45 connector)

**Q: Will this work with the rectangular dishy, is that what you mean by "V2"?**
A: Yes, you are right. Several names for this terminal were formed in different Starlink user communities: Rectangular Dishy or Dishy V2.
You can find the connection template in the pictures.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow up, DOA, but my return window is closed,
*by S***S on January 31, 2024*

Follow up... I changed from one star to 5 stars. Within a week the seller contacted me and suggested I open the power injector and replace the 4 amp fast blow fuse. I finally found one and replaced it. Our Starlink internet has been working from our 24 volt battery bank since yesterday morning. Now I wont have to leave our inverter running when away for long periods of time. It's my fault I didn't figure a way to test the YAOSHENG 150W GigE Passive PoE Injector when it arrived with the the other components in the photo. At $81, with a 4.5 star rating I assumed it would work. Now I'm way past Amazon's 30 day return. But it's DOA and I don't know how to get the seller or manufacturer will replace it under warranty. It was delivered October 9. January 25 I finally had time to install it so I could avoid running the inverter when not there. As you can see in the photo, there is no light indicating it's powered up. In addition there is no power to the POE port on any of the conductors. So if your reading this, a quick test would be just to connect it on a test board like I have pictured and power it up and see if the LED comes on. I spent hours installing it in a workman like manner and ending taking everything back apart.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great build quality
*by C***B on February 23, 2024*

The YAOSHENG 150W GigE Passive PoE Injector with Surge Protection is a game-changer for Starlink users looking to create a 12V system without the need for wire cutting. This PoE injector is compatible with both round Dishy (V1) and rectangular Dishy (V2/V3), making it versatile for various Starlink setups. The device has 2 standard RJ45 connectors, allowing for easy connection to the Starlink terminal and the LAN side. Users have two options for connection: either cut off the standard Starlink connector and replace it with an RJ45 shielded connector, or use an adapter to switch the interface from the Starlink connector to the RJ45. Customers have reported that the device works well with both round and rectangular Dishy setups. However, there have been a few instances where the device failed after a few months of use, causing the dish to go into a reboot/config loop. It seems that the power output may not be sufficient in these cases. Overall, customers have found this PoE injector to be convenient and effective, simplifying the setup of their Starlink systems. It allows for easy integration with existing routers and systems, providing a reliable power source for the Starlink terminal.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Expensive but worth it for me...
*by S***R on November 18, 2023*

Honestly, this part is REALLY expensive for what it does, however I'll call it a decent value as long as it continues to work. It made my mobile Starlink install much easier. I hacked the rectangular Starlink antenna and mounted it in a flat mount case made by another company. I then cut the starlink cable and added RJ45 connectors to both cut ends and the statlink pigtail. I'm feeding this device with a 12v -> 48v buck converter and as soon as I plugged everything in starlink powered up and connected to the network. I plugged a GL.iNet router into the other port and was online and surfing the web. I was willing to pay more for this unit because it's in an indestructible enclosure, has the ability to be grounded, and saved me having to sort out the correct wiring conversion needed since starlink does not use the same pin layout as ethernet. There have been some reports of this device failing. I won't know about longevity until I've had it awhile but so far it's a win.
