It costs a lot less than the bare wires at present. Also, it has a protective layer that helps with maring up the wire. However, if you are kinda rough, you can't buff out any flaws you make, so if you're trying to get perfect jewelry, you'll have to show a little bit of care. That being said, it was very protective, but still possible to scratch when you are just heavy handed.
