Worth the effort now that my tablet's usable again. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 3 August 2017* My original battery was about 30 months old and it only lasted a couple of hours on a full charge even if I was only using it for reading text on screen (no pics, video or bluetooth). Decided to bite the bullet and buy a new battery after studing the Youtube videos about how to replace a Nexus 10 battery. Decided on the KingSener one because it offered a 2 year warranty.The batter came with some plastic tools. I had already purchased a Philips 00 magnetic screwdriver for the task. Given the size of the screws the magnetism was essential for replacing said screws given my poor eyesight (at 69 years old). The plastic tools intended for opening the case were rather soft and quickly wore down. They lasted just long enough for me to open the case. Not without some difficulty I must admit. Once the case was opened (as per instruction video on Youtube) everything went smoothly until it came time to disconnect the old battery plug and socket. (The video simply said "carefully disconnect the battery"). Turns out that the plastic connector socket was pretty well fused to the supporting board and wouldn't budge. Eventually I had to resort to forcing it off with a screwdriver. I was very nervous about damaging the very delicate looking circuitry around it, or shortening the old battery, but reckoned that since I was going to replace that battery it didn't matter if I broke it. One gouged out, I scraped the remaining socket off the board to which it was fused. Luckily the plug part, which had to be reused seemed intact. The new battery aligned up fine with the socket and fixing screws.I must admit that I was rather posimistic that my tablet would ever work again once reassembled, but amazingly it seems fine. The battery life seems as good as when the tablet was new. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it no longer discharges at a drop of a hat, thank goodness!However, I wouldn't like to repeat this rather fraught procedure without a more robust plastic tool for case removal. The whole operation took me about 2 hrs. But that's probably due to my lack of experience at working with such fine components. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Restored life back into my Nexus 10's *by A***H on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 10 December 2017* I've now replaced the battery in two Nexus 10's and they are now lasting a lot longer on the new batteries, although not quite as good as the originals when I first bought the Nexus 10's.It's a fairly tricky job, but there are a couple of youtube videos that go into the detail. Takes about an hour.The hardest part is prising the case apart. Best to start at the top in the middle near the on/off switch, and try to avoid switching it on whilst unclipping the case (which i did the first time). There are 4 blue tools for unclipping the case, the long ones are best. Unclipping the first bit of the case can seem difficult, but once you've done one bit it gets a bit easier, corners are the hardest. The bit to be most careful is when unclipping the ribbon cable latches, they flick upwards very easily with long blue tool, but make sure you're lifting the right bit of the latch up, the ribbon cable on its own on the right has the latch at the top of the connector and flicks the other way to the other 2 ribbon cables, that's where good eyes or a magnifying glass is useful.After that it gets easier, putting the battery in and the clipping the case together is fairly easy.Its always a relief when it starts up again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Installed and working well, a new lease of life ... *by G***H on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 29 January 2018* Installed and working well, a new lease of life for an old tablet. Take your time when doing the replace and maybe search out a couple of you tub videos to see how it's done.
