One has the wavy/curly coat of her standard poodle mother, the other has the straighter coat of his golden retriever father. The furMe Professional Plus FM-02 makes clipping them so much easier. I previously clipped them with a dog clipper, but the vacuum combined with clippers is genius! The motor has three speeds to increase suction. The first and second speeds are quiet, third speed is a bit noisier, but pulls the hair straighter, making clipping some of the wavier/curlier parts easier. Neither of the dogs minds the noise for any of the settings. My male lies on his back and goes to sleep while I'm trimming him. The canister is clear so I can see when it's full as it fills up fast without any hair flying all over my room. It empties easily in the trash and reattaches quickly and I'm good to go for more clipping. I'm 70 years old and have arthritis in my hands which makes handling anything heavy for any length of time very difficult. The clipper attached to the hose isn't heavy and maneuvers easily. I trim them on the floor and the hose is plenty long enough to get around them. If I had them up on a table, because they're so tall, it would require a longer hose if the unit were on the floor.
