I own both the seemee 200 and 300 and I ride early morning before sunrise until after sunrise. When I select the brake mode by long pressing the power button until the light illuminates solid and then I select the mode I want; the light will automatically turn off the optitracing light after sunrise and be in day mode. I bought this after entirely too much research into tail lights, and this one won out for two primary reasons: 1. The listed battery life on this unit is way longer than most tail lights on the market, and I can confirm from use that it does last a long time - weeks between charges with simple commute usage. 2. The downward-facing tracing LED is a brilliant idea that provides both identification and positioning information to drivers when sharing a road. I can’t say I’ve driven past myself, but I certainly feel more comfortable knowing my legs are lit up as they pass. The only feature I wish this had is whatever the syncing tech is to control the tail along with the headlight. I also use the Hori headlight from the same company, and their smaller tail lights without the tracer LED sync up with the remote control. Maybe on the next version.
