Review: Very good for the price! - Quite thin stainless steel I have to say, poor materials in my book... this pots very narrow and is more a drinking vessel rather than being a decent “on the stove vessel” with it being so narrow... Update, after several months use, the above review is infair... the materails used are really robust and of super good quality, the stainless brish finish body is just ace and the more you use this, the more you love it! The deisgn is very well thought out and will serve you very well on any outing! Handle is a little wobbly with pop rivels being a bit off on the manufacture but no big deal, comparing it to the british crusader steel mug, at half the price... id actually say its better! On materials and build quality, as handle is riveted on instead of flash welded like british army mug... Ive grown to love mine, its a gooden👍

**Q: If these are made from Stainless Steel, then why do magnets NOT stick to it?**
A: Umm hate to get too nerdy but austinite phase of steel is non magnetic. That’s why with regular steel it isn’t magnetic when it’s hot, the pearlite and martencite phases convert to austinite when heated. Most stainless steel alloys stay in the austinite phase at room temperature hence why it isn’t magnetic. 18-8 isn’t a duplex stainless alloy...

**Q: Does anyone know if the 8oz. butane/propane canister fits inside this cooking set, if you remove the 2 plastic cups?**
A: Ditch both cups, get a ss cup (MSR, REI, or WM) that this pot will sit in. Turn the 4oz fuel canister upside down and drop it in the Stanley Pot. Put the pocket stove on top of that. You should have room for a spork, and some spice packs, a little dish soap and a small cleaning cloth. The SS cup is less weight than the plastic ones and you can cook in it. There are several YouTube videos on it.

**Q: What is total weight for this set?**
A: Hi Lilly. Cookset weighs a total of nearly 14oz. Without cups a weight of 7.5oz. I ditched the cups to save the weight and gain some room. Also ditched the plastic handle and put a split ring on.  Hope this helps. pgorja.

**Q: What's the most efficient way to clean the Stanley pot when you have limited resources on extended trips?**
A: CLEANING NOTE:  DO THIS WHILE ITS STILL WARM NOT HOT ! Just use dry/ moist sand or dirt to remove soot and anything left inside the kettle then wipe as as much as possible and rinse with clean water..after several camp fire uses mine still looks brand new! You can boil a little water in it to sterilize prior to using again you don't need to carry soap or steel wool and it's not bad for the environment. It's a win win.

Really simple bit of kit, the quality and finish are great. Not for extended trips, it is ideal for day trips and shorter trips of a couple of days where you don't want to/need to vary the meal choices. The two cups it comes with are nice, don't lose heat so don't burn your hands either. The other thing is that they are pleasant to drink from, they are very well finished and comfortable on the mouth. May sound odd, but this sort of thing makes all the difference when you have had a long day and are rewarding yourself to a nice hot drink, it gives that little bit of luxury. All you need to do is add water and the view!!
