(I also bought a shirt from Sheep Run but it has yet to arrive and the projected delivery date is 20 days after the others arrived, so I'll update if and when that one shows up. )Of the Icebreaker, the Metarino, and the Merino Protect; they all felt the same. Soft and comfortable. The Icebreaker and the Metarino were an inch longer in the body, but for shorty me length isn't an issue. Only the lighter colors has any "see-through ness" but upon closer inspection that had more to do with the color than the weight or thickness of the material. All were the same. The Metarino had slightly better stitching but other than that they all could have been from the same company. The biggest difference was the price. The Icebreaker was $65, the Metarino was $40 and the Merino Protect was $35. The Merino Protect also offered more color choices! I am taking a trip soon and need to pack light. I read that these Merino wool shirts wick away moisture and can be worn for multiple days in a row if needed. I am doing a test with it - so far have worn three times and not washed it. However, I bought L so that I could dry in the dryer without fear. So far I have washed (cold normal or delicate cycle) and dryed (low heat) this shirt twice, and it fits perfectly. I have not yet seen any holes appear. Odor control aspect of merino wool seemed to work well on recent trip to Europe where I was only able to wash the shirt once but wore it several days. Thermoregulation seemed good too, and the shirt is not scratchy. However, I did not do any strenuous workouts--just lots of walking.
