This does exactly what it says: reflects your body heat to make the bed nice and toasty. There is a bit of a delay when you first get in the bed (since you are the one supplying the heat) and having a good insulating top cover to trap the heat is important as well. It was very helpful the night that my furnace went out and it got down to 28 degrees outside (52 inside). Being in bed was very comfortable in those conditions.So why only 4 stars, and why am I replacing it with an electric mattress pad? You can’t turn it off. If that 28 degree day is followed by a 70 degree day, the bed gets just as warm, which means you are now sweating and trying to cool down. So I am going with something with more flexibility. I am going to save this and put it in with my emergency supplies, however, because it does do what it says and there are situations where that could be very useful. . ### ⭐⭐⭐ Works fairly well *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2018* I placed this warmer in the middle of my king size bed and that left about 1 foot on each side of my mattress not covered by the warmer. So it is clearly not wide enough for a king size bed. Also it has a rustling sound. I could tell a definite difference in his comfort level. I ended up buying one for our 6 year old and for my husband and I. We definitely notice a difference. No crinkling noises, just kept our beds a bit warmer.
