## Description

Natural Palm Wax Stearin - 200g bag A wax entirely derived from palm trees, and thus 100% natural. Stearin is commonly used as an additive in candlemaking wax, offering several sought after advantages when making the 'perfect' candle. The addition of Stearin has several benefits: Stearin Hardens wax, giving candles tough outer shells and aiding the rigitity of the candle (also stops candles from slumping). This hard surface has an increased shine, which complements any addition of colour into the wax, giving the candle visual depth and consolidarity of colour. Increases the overall melting point of standard paraffin, leading to an Increase in burning time of candles. The standard mix of Stearin is 5-10%. Stearin can be mixed at higher proportions, up to a recommended maximum of 25-30%. Due to the acidic nature of Natural Palm Stearin, this wax should not be used on rubber moulds as damage can be caused.

**Q: hi , could you tell me the name of the product that helps stopping a candle meting with sunlight plz & do you stock it .**
A: This product, Stearin,when mixed with wax causes it to shrink slightly when cool to allow for easy "de-moulding" of the candle.We are not aware of any product which prevents melting in sunlight.  Based in the UK, it's not something we come across very often!

**Q: Would this product increase the scent throw of a candle? Even if a natural wax like rapeseed wax was used?**
A: I'm not sure about the scent throw, but (along with hardening the finished candle) it does give better burn qualities, so it may well enhance the fragrance, but I believe it has more to do with the candle actually burning.

Not sure that it's necessary to use stearin in candle making.  I made some candles without stearin and they were just as good.
