With 16 wells, I have enough colors to paint anything and everything and the size is just right. Not too big to cause me to want to leave it at home and not too small to not carry enough colors or paint to paint plain air anywhere at any time. I use Daniel Smith watercolors and I only need to scratch the well where I pour the Ultramarine Blue because that's the one that doesn't stick to the polished finish plastic well.I can also fit a 3/4 inch flat brush and a #6 round inside the palette.
