Handmade in the USA: Sara Monica Men's Flower Lapel Pin Boutonnieres are entirely handmade, starting from the fabric with antique flower making tools, in the studio of Sara Monica Flower Crafts in Dunellen, NJ by a small team of artisans. They are 2 inches in diameter (5 cm). Made from stiffened burgundy & brown twill fabrics and have a clutch pin backing. They're packaged in individual small boxes. Mainly worn by men on business suits. Made with traditional millinery flower making techniques. The fabric is first washed and then soaked in fabric stiffener, hung to dry one yard at a time. The fabric stiffener works as a binder to keep the threads in the fabric from fraying at the edges. It also makes the fabric pliable so the petals can be molded into flower petal shapes. The fabric is cut with custom made sharp dies (cutting tools) to also reduce fraying of the fabric, for a polished professional look. The petals are then pressed in antique heated bronze molds which were handmade and hand cast in the early 1900's by NYC flower tool artisans. The process of pressing the petals in the heated molds shape the fabric petals into the curves of flower petals. The small flower petals are then meticulously hand glued together to form the shape of the final rounded flower. They are handmade by a highly skilled and professionally trained artisans in the USA.

- Clutch pin backing can be pinned to any garment, but mainly worn by men on business suit's left lapel, either through or near the buttonhole of the left lapel. Women please note, this men's flower lapel pin is smaller than the average women's lapel pin. Contemporary men's flower lapel pin size average between 1 to 2 inches, but women's average between 3 to 7 inches.
