If you work alone and work with ferrous metals, this magnetic tape measure is a necessity.
I work with metals, and have need of measuring these metals for cutting, drilling, folding and scoring. Tape measures are always sliding around and disengaging from the end of the piece. This magnetic tape measure allows me to place the end where I want it, then simply unroll it to make my marks for the various tasks. It’s flexible, easy to read and use, and is marked in sixteenth inch increments, inch and foot demarcations, as well as in millimeters and centimeters. Black on yellow makes it easy to find and read. Though it’s not a micrometer, the precision is enough for most of my projects.

It’s junk
I didn’t even use it once!!! The tape measure is in fact... TAPE!! Not cloth or some other material that won’t bend, deform or stretch. The material didn’t stay attached to the magnet either. It came off. It’s just stuck to the top of my gang box. Useless tool that I regret buying.

Not straight
The sticker on the magnet is not straight or flat so the measurements are not accurate
