Speaking as an English tutor myself, I have found that the 'Magazine Style' format of this book seems to be far more concentrated on making each page look interesting to the eye, as opposed to being what it is supposed to be, i.e. a Revision Guide. In reality, sadly there is very little information that would be of any use to those preparing to sit their GCSE English Language & Literature exams, with too much emphasis placed on colourful photographs that bear no relation to the GCSE English exams. I honestly believe that whoever was given the brief for this guide sadly placed far too much emphasis on its visual appeal, whereas it is supposed to be a revision aid. Many of the 'hands-on' revision activities included in each module are time wasting and completely irrelevant to successful revision. The time spent completing these activities would be far better spent completing some 'useful' revision. Unfortunately, cutting pictures out of a magazine and then pasting them onto a piece of paper to identify purpose, form and audience is not, in my humble opinion, time spent wisely.In short, I am sad to say that I feel very let down by this Revision Guide as I can think of many other books that are far superior to this and therefore, I shall certainly not be recommending this book to any of my student's. ### ⭐⭐ It's design is very elaborate however it lacks useful content and anything that evades common knowledge or anything ... *by A***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 February 2018* Personally, as a student, I found that this guide did not really help me at all.
