## Description

SEA OF STRIFE: A clear and beautiful day at sea! That’s what you had planned when you left port this morning. Unfortunately, the ocean is often fickle, and today has turned out to be no exception. Now you must face a variety of hazards before you can reach safety! Can you navigate the troubled waters to return to port with your boat (and your sanity) intact? Seas of Strife is a trick-taking card game where the players try to avoid taking tricks! Each player has a hand of cards. In each turn, every player will play one card. Once each player has played a card, the player that played the “best” card takes all of the cards just played, also called a “trick.” However, the goal of the game is to take the fewest tricks each round, so avoid playing the best card as much as you can. Sometimes your opponents will conspire against you, forcing you to take a trick against your wishes. But, with clever play, you might be the only one who safely makes it back to port! Seas of Strife is played over several rounds. A round consists of as many “tricks” as the number of cards each player has at the beginning of the round. Type: Card Games. Players: 3-6 Players. Length: 30-60 minutes. This is Texas Showdown by Mark Major re-themed.

Review: Fun Trick-Taking Game - Beth Sobel is one of my favorite board game artists. She has does a fantastic job once again with the art for this game. The game is a fun take on truck-taking. Nice quality cards. The game is easy to learn and provides some fun strategy. Quick and easy game. Travels very nicely. The box lid is a bit loose so you may want to rubber band it or put it in a ziploc bag when traveling. That is How Lou Sees It.
Review: Fantastic game - bring it to parties! - Great card game that plays up to 6 well. It is the same game as Texas Showdown, just skinned for sailing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic game - bring it to parties!

Great card game that plays up to 6 well. It is the same game as Texas Showdown, just skinned for sailing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Use alternative rules
*by D***R on August 23, 2024*

This game is great. I decided to research and find the rules online as it is easier for me to read. I realized the rules in the box aren’t as extensive. I played the game the way the original game maker intended. I used the variant and never played with the rules in the box. I totally enjoyed the game. It is a neat take on trick taking where the lead suit can change. Google the rules so you can see the variants. There are two if I recall correctly.
