Review: OK but not Perfect. - Does a reasonable job but not 100%. I am sure there are better ones on the market but I couldn't find one. I still get picture break-up.
Review: Simple to use - and very effective. - I find this is working very well. I am using a window--mounted aerial: 1byone 0.5 mm Paper Thin Transparent Window Aerial with 3 Meters High Performance Cable, Digital Freeview and DVB-T Signals VHF / UHF / FM, Digital TV Aerial with Two Suckers, Extreme Soft Design and Lightweight to watch Freeview via a USB receiver and my laptop. Without the amplifier, the signal is frequently dropping out for certain channels and quite a bit of pixellation on others. Using this amplifier I seem to have rock-solid reception on all channels. It is very simple to connect. One additional step I took - the coax aerial cables run along my desk behind my large monitors with several other power cables , so I have put a ferrite RF filter on each coax cable (between the aerial and the amplifier, and between the amplifier and the USB receiver plugged into the laptop).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what percentige increase can i expect**
A: Well Michael, I live in a very poor signal area where you can't even get a mobile phone signal unless you go half a mile up the road! Every 3 mins without this box the freeview box would go pixalated and garbled sound on just about 99% of all channels. Once I bought this I found the problem was solved. The only thing I noticed was when the workmen dug up the road with a pneumatic drill, I only got a couple of seconds of interference. Considering now I've had this Antiference box for a while I am more than happy with it. If you get ANY signal from ANYthing at all. I would buy this box and take a chance. Percentage increase is different for every channel but even the low signal channels were great so I didn't notice the difference quality wise. Hope this helps.

**Q: i had to buy an indoor ariel to get channels. some channels are ok but others are not good and seem to crack up.. will this help with indoor ariel?**
A: Mine too is an indoor aerial and this product improved my reception immensely. I have noticed though, with the digital channels you have to retune your set regularly.

**Q: WHAT DB SIGNAL GAIN**
A: The unit has a specified gain of 20dB, however when I fitted one I measured the signal increase at 15dBu which suggests this would only be adequate if you have moderate levels already, if you have low levels (ie struggle to get anything) you would need a high gain amplifier.

**Q: I have a freeview box, how would i connect this aperently amazing device up? as i get pixelated and garbled sound every few seconds on normal and FV.**
A: Difficult one to answer as mine worked straight out of the box for normal and FV reception. Only thing I can suggest is for you to unscrew all your co-ax plugs and make sure you have not disturbed anything. Even a couple of strands of the outer sheath braided wire coming into contact with the main single core is likely to cause bad reception. Best I can offer...other than temporarily connect the box to another TV and see if the problem replicates itself. If it does then this MIGHT suggest the item is faulty.

### ⭐⭐⭐ OK but not Perfect.
*by D***6 on 5 March 2015*

Does a reasonable job but not 100%. I am sure there are better ones on the market but I couldn't find one. I still get picture break-up.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simple to use - and very effective.
*by C***. on 22 October 2016*

I find this is working very well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cable entry let-down
*by J***E on 14 July 2015*

I decided to replace the existing (unknown make) signal booster which had been in use for a good few years. Impressed with the build quality of this Antiference model and the resultant picture is a tadge better. My only gripe would be that had the design been one where the cable entries (Mains and Ariel) were on the side, instead of at the bottom, then it could have been mounted on the skirting board. Impossible to do so unless you have very old type 6-8 inch Victorian skirting boards, because by the time you have inserted the co-ax plug there is no way you can screw it to a modern day skirting board Hence it was all down to drilling the wall - rawlplugs etc. Small point, but thought I would mention it.
