Β The FINGERINSPIRE round wooden base is highly polished and finished in a rich 'saddle brown' coloured surface (I would describe the colour as a reddish-brown, not dissimilar to a mahoghany wood colour).I ordered the round one and I like the inset raised disk and the fact that the base layer is nicely rounded - it has simple and modern clean lines. The underside is completely flat and has no 'feet' or rubbery pads. I think I will probably add either a felt base or stick on four small round rubber pads to lift the base off the surface a couple of millimetres and also help to protect the surface of whatever the wooden base is placed upon.As I looked around our home I could see many ornaments, vases, lamps and trinkets that would sit nicely on the base. I chose a couple of my discoveries for illustration examples in my photos. I will mention that the photos where I have placed a candle on the wooden base that it's an LED candle - we do not use real candles anywhere as we find the modern LED versions are very effective and, of course, much safer than real candles.For a 'niche' market product like this I think that the 'under Β£7' price tag is probably warranted - I certainly couldn't make anything as well finished as the FINGERINSPIRE base.
