Review: A Problem Free Outdoor Heater - Most people will want to buy this to heat their patio or deck. It mounts to the wall but also could be used on a stand if desired. To be clear, I did not buy 2 of these to heat a patio or deck but to heat 2 outdoor kennels for my German Shepherd Dogs, which I keep outside until it is time for bed when I bring them in the house. Regardless of the brand, no heater of this type is going to work that well whether mounted on a wall or self standing in an open area if it is windy. That is just the way it is. If you have a partially enclosed space which blocks the wind, you will do just fine. Now, the 2 kennels I have are open on all four sides but I have from fall to spring installed wind screens around all four sides of the kennels which are 10 ft x 10ft rectangles and 8 ft high. I have hung the heaters from the ceiling posts of the kennels and they work really well. Very easy to assemble. I have wall mounted heaters (different brand) on my deck and I can tell you that these would mount much easier than the ones I put on my deck. Piece of cake really. The package includes all of the hardware you need. I could mount these on a wall in less than 5 minutes. It took me less than that to hang them from the ceiling of the kennels. What about the remote? It works flawlessly and for my money it is essential, not just a convenience. I do not want to walk up to the heater and to turn it on or off if I do not have to. You can do it of course, but hitting the remote is far more convenient. It is easy to operate, self intuitive. You do not need instructions to operate it. As for heat, it has three levels. Level 1 is 900 watts, level 2 is 1200 watts and leverl 3 is 1500 watts. I find level 1 more than sufficient for temps in the 40s. I do not use it if 50 or above. (these are German Shepherd Dogs not people) That said, I am sure level one would be fine for the 50s for people. Level 2 I use for temps int he 30s. And Level 3 for the 20s and below. I have had the dogs out when the temperature was 5 degrees F and they did fine. Remember, these are infrared heaters, they heat objects not the air. Has a remote so you do need to reach to turn it on. **Q: Can the patio heater be plugged in series to eliminate multiple power cords?** A: The problem is that this heater is rated on the highest setting @15 amps the average household plug is rated for 15 amps this is the reason most if not all heaters like this are only rated for 1500 on high which translates to about 15 amps at 120vac. If you go above this you need a higher voltage 220 vac or a higher rated plug/wire/breaker. also most household breakers are only rated for 15 amps or 20 because the wire AWG size is rated for about 20 amps because of the kind of insulation covering the wire. Also something to consider when using extension cords is the longer the cord the more voltage drop you will have and a average extension cord is only 14 awg with a minimum amount of insulation the better cords will be rated at 12 awg or higher but normally you will not find a 120 vac cord above 12 awg because of the plug is not rated above 15-20 max amps. Voltage drop will burn a motor up using a long say 100 ft 14 awg cord on say a air compressor it takes more voltage to start which translated into more amperage to start the higher the voltage the less amps will be needed. It gets a lot deeper than this. the same motor will run cooler and longer if the voltage is kept at or a little above the rated voltage say it's rated for 115 vac and it will pull 15 amps running if supplied with 125 volts the same motor will not use much over 12 amps running if all is well! good day and keep your wires dry. **Q: Is it safe for vinyl mounting?** A: Unknown. It is first class in every respect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good heater.....BUT *by M***E on March 22, 2026* I bought this to add some heat in my shed. When you turn it on the heat is there immediately. Keep in mind that this is direct heat and you need to be more or less directly under it to feel the heat. It will work well for it intended purpose. I am deducting 1 star for the mounting system, that is ridiculous and almost required me to grow a third hand to get it done. There was no template in the box as shown in the video. I will be buying a light hanging kit so I can hang and bring the heat down lower.
