I would have given then 5 stars except that after about 7 hours of use they still have dye coming off and staining my hands. Do not let looks deceive you as this is an effective set of work gloves. They guard against hammer blows by covering the index finger knuckle, finger and thumb with a kind of rubber tire guard which makes the glove bulky. The goat skin is on the palm of the bottoms of the fingers, the back of the glove is stretch nylon keeping the gloves tight and the guards in position. This creates a good but not a great work glove.The gloves run a bit small so you may be interested in ordering a larger slzed glove. If you normally hammer your finger and hand, then these gloves could provide some protection.
